1st Line Support Engineer - Central London

Up to £25,000pa

 

 

 

Our client, an IT Services provider is recruiting for a 1st Line Support Engineer. This will be predominantly based from their office nr Holborn with visits to client sites across Central London.

 

Role:                1st Line Support Engineer

 

Salary:             Up to £25,000pa

 

Location:         Central London

 

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing a high-quality 1st line support service to our clients on a range of varied range of hardware, software, server, networking and infrastructure based issues.

 

Responsibilities will include

Customer Service:

  • Build a good rapport and relationship with customers
  • Liaise with customers with a view to keeping them informed about the progress of their incidents which have been raised
  • Educate and train customers in the use and operation of their hardware and software
  • Have a thorough knowledge of the products and services available from the Company
  • Promote new products and services to customers
  • Excellent communication skills are essential for this role as is an ability to convey complex technical issues to a non-technical audience

 

The successful applicant should have extensive practical knowledge of:

  • Windows Server & Active Directory exposure
  • Exchange Server/Office 365 exposure
  • MS Windows XP/Vista and Microsoft Office
  • Networking concepts LAN/WAN
  • Working knowledge of Cisco, HP or firewall products
  • Qualifications such as Microsoft - MCP or Cisco – CCNA are desirable

 

Technical Skills:

  • Providing first line level support to our clients through telephone, remote and on-site assistance
  • Logging, updating and communicating the status of incidents which are raised by our clients on our central service desk database. Interrogate details of requests received or from a customer to identify the action required
  • To provide advice, installation services and on-going support in relation to IT Services being used by our clients
  • Repair hardware and software faults
  • Install spare parts required to fix such faults
  • Install new software releases, upgrades and patches as required
  • Recover and restore customers’ systems and data
  • Testing customers’ hardware and software
  • Deal with hardware and software compatibility issues
  • Identify opportunities for selling products or services to customers
